Rachel Gilmour failed to vote for

Local outrage is mounting after Liberal Democrat MP Rachel Gilmour failed to support a proposed inquiry into grooming gangs. The amendment, brought forward by Conservative MPs, aimed to investigate councillors, MPs, and council staff who may have covered up systematic grooming and to ensure no cover-ups still persist. Community members have voiced their deep disappointment and are demanding justice for the victims of these appalling crimes.

“This issue goes to the heart of justice and accountability,” said campaigner and Exmoor farmer James Wright. “Grooming gangs have destroyed lives and shattered communities. While there have been inquiries before, the one proposed would have compelled testimonies and uncover the full truth about whose failed to act. Rachel Gilmour’s failure to vote for the inquiry is a betrayal of whose she was elected to represent. Her inaction sends a dangerous message, that accountability and justice are being sidelined in the name of political correctness."

A recent social media post highlighting the issue has received over 500 likes and 5,000 views, indicating overwhelming public response. While Gilmour may argue that another inquiry isn’t necessary, campaigners insist that existing recommendations can still be implemented alongside this new, targeted investigation. The inquiry would focus on exposing those who enabled these crimes to persist through neglect or active cover-up.

Residents are encouraged to sign the petition at demandaninquirynow.com to demand justice and accountability.
